SELF CARE

How do you make time for self-care?

It’s kind of like those of us who say we like to be out in nature. Well, step out your front door, there you are.   It might not be as we want to think of it, or would like to see it, but you aren’t removed from nature.  Even when your’re standing on the concrete in front of a building because those things, man made, have a foundation, already been there.

The same I see with this issue of self-care. It’s your day.  It’s not separate. It is kind of like Peter Coyote said, you are never removed from the air, water or land. I think it’s the same with this. It’s a choice and decision that can become a habit. But self-care is not apart, away from or outside of you.

To me, it’s yet another symptom of how disconnected we have become. We separate, label, categorize, quantify and qualify everything.  It’s our need for efficiency, and increase in productivity. Look to where your values are, see how that lines up.

Reggie and I, going to take a walk and watch an old movie. We categorize that as Tuesday.
